Kankali Devi Temple, Mathura

The temple of Kankalidevi is found on Kankali Tila. She is called Kansakali or Kankalidevi because Kansa worshipped her. This is the same eightarmed Durgadevi who rides a lion, that Kansa wanted to kill thinking her to be the daughter of Devaki. But the goddess escaped from his hands and ascended into the sky. Location: Shri Kankali Devi Temple is situated on parikrama marg, 600 meters south of Bhuteshwar Mahadev Temple in Azad Nagar, Mathura.
