Sankarshan Kund - Govardhan

Sankarshan Kund is amongst the most important heritage sites in Braj. This Kund is named after the elder brother of Lord Krishn, namely Sankarshan, who is also known as Baldau or Dauji. A temple dedicated to Dauji is located near this Kund. The deity adored in this temple was found in this Kund only and was established 5000 years ago by Shri Vajranabh Ji, the great-grandson of Lord Krishn. This deity finds mention in the ancient Vedic literature including 'Garg Samhita'. It is believed that a holy dip in this Kund relieves one from all the past sins incurred in this material world.
