Location:
Vishram Ghat is located 2km away from Shri Krishna Janmabhumi at the bank of yamuna in Mathura.
At this place, Lord Krishna sat under the shade of Giriraj ji and rested (vishram) at this place after killing Kansa and since then this place is famous as Vishram ghat or Vishram sthali.
Vishram sthali has been an important place from a very long time.
In the 15th century even this place suffered from the injustices and discrimination against the Hindus brought on by the various decrees issued by Sikandar Lodi. When Hindus were under great distress due to the opposition of Sikandar Lodi, acharya Keshav Bhatt Kashmiri of Nimbark sect and Shri Vallabhacharya ji Maharaj had the restrictions at Vishram Ghat removed by the power of their will and their devotion.
