Darshan, History and Divine pastimes of Nandgaun Palace.

Nandgaon Palace of Shri Nandbaba
The royal palace of Nanda Maharaj, is situated in Nandagaon. Nandgaon is located about 8.5 km to the north of Barsana. Nandgaon is located about 50 Kms on the north west of Mathura.

Lord Shiva pleased his worshipful deity Shri Krishna and asked for the boon to have darshan of his childhood pastimes. Shri Krishn pleased with him and asked him to situate himself in Nandagaon in the form of a hill. Lord Shiva became Nandeshwar Hill at Nandgaon. Nandbaba's Palace is located at Nandeshwar Hill.

Here, Mother Yashoda, Father Nandbaba and Krishnam Baldev performed many of Their childhood, boyhood and youth pastimes. Every day, Mother Yashoda used to decorate Balrama and Krishna in different ways. Shri Krishn and Balram with Their friends, go to cow grazing daily. Here, Mother Yashoda used to put Radharani on her lap before seeing Her off with tearful eyes.

Various peacocks at Bijavari - Nandgaon, Braj

In this Mor Van of Nandgaon, Shri Krishn used to come to graze his cows, and then he would take them to Mor Kund to quench their thirst.
One day Shri Radharani came here with her beloved peacock. Shri Radha said to Shri Krishn "Will you dance with my peacock", Shri Krishn replied, "Hey it is a bird, how will it dance with me". On this Shri Radha said "This is my peacock, and it knows well how to dance", Shri Krishn said "Okay". After this, Shri Radharani placed Her Lotus Hand on the back of Her peacock, due to which the art of dancing was infused inside the peacock and Shri Krishn's dance with the peacock started. By the grace of Shri Radha, the peacock was victorious in the dance and Shri Krishn was defeated. In the middle of the dance, a feather of the peacock broke off and fell to the ground. Considering that peacock feather as Prasad of Shri Radharani, Shri Krishn picked it up and wore it in his crown forever. Then in order to please Shri Krishn, Shri Radha danced with Him in the form of a peacock at this place, due to which the name of this forest was named Mor Van and the name of the Kund was Mor Kund (Mor means peacock). Lord Shiva himself had come to see this wonderful Raas dance. Nearby is the temple of Lord Shiva, Konkeshwar Mahadev.
The Mor Kund is mentioned in the 56 Kundas of Nandgaon.

Yashoda Kund & Hau Bhilau, Nandgaun | Darshan & Pastimes | यशोदा कुण्ड एवं हाऊबिलाऊ - नंदगांव

Vrajeshvar Maharaj Nand would regularly sit here with his elder and younger brothers, as well as with the elderly gopas, priests, and so on, to discuss Krishn's well-being. It is called a Baithak because they would sit here together for discussions. Baithan means "to sit". Nand Maharaj has several Baithakas in the eighty-four Kosas of Braj Mandal. Wherever Nand Baba used to reside with his cows, gopas, gopis, and others is called Nand-Gokul, and there used to be periodic meetings like this in those places. Thus, other such Baithakas include Choti-Baithan and Badi-Baithan.

Nand Baithak and Nand Kund - Nandgaon Darshan Pastimes | नन्द बैठक एवं नन्द कुंड - नन्दगाँव

In the west of Nandgaon, Charanpahari is situated at a distance of 1.5 km from Shri Nandababa Temple.
The footprints of Shri Krishn are inscribed on the Charan hill (Nandishwar Hill) of Shri Nandgaon. At the time of cow herding, Shri Krishn climbed atop this Nandishwar mountain and played His flute to gather lakhs of cows. The rocks of this mountain were melted by the compassionate and sweet voice of the flute and the imprints of Krishn's Lotus Feet were marked here. Lord Shiva was pleased to see this and said to Shri Krishn "O Lord, I am blessed, Your footprints will remain like this till eternity."
